${IC_book} Lesson · Linear Equations

Solving equations with one variable.

${IC_play}

A linear equation keeps two expressions in balance. Whatever you do to one side, you do to the other — so the balance holds while you isolate the unknown.

To solve 2x + 5 = 13, first subtract 5 from both sides, then divide by 2. The value of x that keeps the equation true is its solution.

${IC_bulb} Key idea: solving isn't guessing — it's undoing operations, one balanced step at a time.
